An Approach to the Usage level and Performance of e-trade

The objective of this study is to identify factors that influence the usage and performance of e-trade in Korean firms and to suggest schemes that help successful implementation and introduction of e-trade in Korea. Considering the characteristics of e-trade, the proposed factors are based on an interdisciplinary study. Also reviewing the theories of innovation diffusion, nter-organizational system, and IS implementation, the research model and hypotheses of this study are developed. The factors proposed for this study consist of external firm factors (inter-firm relationship, consultant support), internal firm factors (organization characteristics; firm size, top management support, education-training, export charac-teristics : share of export to total sales, Technology char-acteristics : IT maturity), and perception factors(perceived benefit, perceived barriers). A questionnaire was used to analysis the usage level and performance of e-trade. The analysis result revealed that consultant support, top management support, IT maturity, perceived benefit, and perceived barrier are influential variables on the usage level of e-trade. Also, the factors that influenced the performance of e-trade are consultant support, top management support, education-training, perceived benefits.
