중학교 열린 교실에서의 협동 학습 전략

Cooperative Learning Strategy in Middle School Open Classroom

This study focuses on the cooperative learning strategy in middle school open classroom. Especially why cooperative learning is so powerful in middle school open class? There are several reasons: cooperative learning activities add variety to teaching method, allow students to move around, help students show consideration for others, involve students in decision making and problem solving, provide social interaction, give an opportunity to take a risk, allow movement from concrete to abstract thinking, allow opportunity for peer acceptance, give a sense of belonging to a group, provide an opportunity to be sensitive to others' abilities and talents, foster independence from the teacher, provide an opportunity for developing new friendship. Maximizing students' success on the cooperative learning strategy in middle school open classroom, in addition, activities are suggested as follows: 1. Teacher must understand the benefits and drawbacks both individual work and group work. 2 Teacher must understand the concept and procedure of cooperative learning and the role of him. 3. Selecting the lesson or topic and gathering the resources or materials available for students depend on teacher, not textbook. 4. Teachers should have a considerable knowledge base on which to decide how to use cooperative learning techniques and endeavor to try it. 5. Grouping students can determine the success or failure of an cooperative activity. 6. Students do need to learn social skills, contributing to the success of cooperative learning. 7. Teacher should evaluate students on group performance as well as individual performance.
