The study of Zen Thought of Ven. Kyung-Hur and Significance of present-day

The permission for the monks to enter in the Seoul in Enlightenment of Korea, which is given by the Japanese Government-General of Korea, has endowed to them with the restoration of their authority. However, it must be recorded here that they made much endeavors by themselves to retrieve their former position. A matter of prime importance is that they followed the genuine faith for the Lord Buddha as their guiding principle in life under the worst circumstance and they coped very actively with new changes of the situation, nevertheless they have no golden opportunity to abolish all bad law by themselves. In short, they could not help depending upon Japanese Buddhists who have cherished design upon Korean Buddhism. That's why the current trend of Korean Buddhist at the times changed passively. At this very moment, the zen practice of Korean Buddhism led by the Ven. Kyung-Hur(1946~1912) in order to not only educate monks and to do away with evil practices, but also to observe traditional ascetic practices and to remove social inequality. It may be added here that the Master Kyoung-Hur has devoted to the Samadhi-Prajna Community which has become a doctrinal foundation of National Buddhist Movement.
