성장과 분배 - 새로운 경제 성장 모형 정립을 위한 보울리 법칙(Bowley's Law)의 재검토 -

Growth and Distribution - The Bowley's Law Revisited for the New Economic Development Model -

본 연구는 성장과 분배의 인과관계에 대한 새로운 해석의 가능성을 모색하기 위해 보울리 법칙(Bowley's Law)의 타당성 여부를 검토한다. 보울리의 법칙은 경제성장이나 발전과는 상관없이 기능적 소득분배율이 장기적으로 일정하다는 가설이다. 연구의 순서는 먼저 기능적 소득분배와 성장과의 관계를 조명하면서, 경제이론과 경제정책에 미친 보울리 법칙의 영향을 확인한다. 다음으로 보울리 법칙의 타당성 여부를 각 나라의 기능적 소득분배율의 변화를 통해 검증한다. 이를 통해 기능적 소득분배에 대한 관점을 재인식함으로써, 성장과 분배의 관계를 해명할 성장모형의 외연을 타진한다.

This paper examines the Bowley's law which is law of constant labor share in income distribution in the long term. For the establishment of a new development model it is necessary to test if the Bowley's law appeares. Three adjustments for calculating labor shares are identified and compared. The major finding in the study is that economy of five countries(Korea, Germany, England, USA, France) not support the Bowley's law in general.
