실업계 고등학교 교육의 임금 효과

Wage Effect of Vocational High School Education

본 논문은 실업계 고등학교 졸업자가 인문계 고등학교 졸업자에 비해 보다 높은 임금 수준을 받는지, 그리고 전공과 잘 맞는 일자리에 취업할 경우 받는 임금 프리미엄이 더 높아지는지를 분석하고 있다. 분석 결과 실업계 고등학교 졸업자의 임금 수준은 인문계 고등학교 졸업자에 비해 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 실업계 고등학교 교육이 전공과 잘 맞는 일자리와 연결될 경우 발생할 수 있는 임금 상승효과 역시 유의하지 않았다. 임금의 측면에서 보았을 때 실업계 고등학교 교육은 뚜렷한 성과를 보이고 있지 못한 것으로 평가된다.

The Aim of this paper is to analyze if vocational high school graduates earn more wage than academic high school graduates, and if vocational high school graduates get more wage premium by matching job with his major than academic high school graduates. Through this analysis we can find the wage rate of vocational high school graduates is similar to that of academic high school graduates. And the wage premium by matching job with his major doesn't show statistically significant difference between vocational high school graduates and academic high school graduates. Vocational high school education fail to get the anticipated results.
