주역 괘의 논리와 재현가능성

The Logic of the Yijing Guas(Hexagrams) and Its Representative Possibility

이 논문에서는 주역의 괘 구조를 현대의 다양한 형식논리를 통해 분석하고 있다. 논리적 분석의 전제로서 역괘의 범주를 합(合)과 분(分)의 상호관계를 들어 세 가지 방식으로 나누어 설명한 뒤, 재시 플레밍이 제시한 양상논리적 접근, 다치논리적 접근, 그리고 집합논리적 접근 방법에 의해 역괘의 구조가 단순한 이치논리가 아닌 특이한 논리성을 띄고 있음을 밝히고자 했다. 양상논리적 접근에 의해서는 역괘의 구조가 높은 개연성을 얻어낼 수 있는 형식으로 만들어져 있고, 다치논리적 접근에 의해서는 역괘가 이치적인 젓이 아닌 다양한 가치를 만들어내는 구조를 갖고 있으며, 집합논리적 접근에 의해서는 역괘의 구조가 무한 수의 사물과 대응할 수 있음을 확인했다. 마지막으로 플레밍의 접근 방법의 한계로서 의미론적 논리화의 필요성을 지적했으며 역괘의 변화에 따른 인덱스적인 재현 가능성을 언급했다.

In this article, we attempted to analyze the structure of the Yijing guas(hexagrams) and their relation through the several forms of modern formal logic. For making our analytic approach effectively, we categorized the structure of the Yijing hexagrams in three ways, a first level categories and two different meta-categories using the features of integration and differentiation. Borrowing Jesse Fleming's idea of the formal logic including modal logic, multi-valued logic, and the set theoretical logic, we then confirmed that the structure of the Yijing hexagrams discloses its own inherent logic with the dynamic relation of each hexagram. The structure consists of modal, multi-valued, and set theoretical logic. That is, it gives a high level of probability, many different values and meaning. Especially we pointed out that Fleming's approaches are very syntactic, lacking the semantical analysis which might explain the interpretative meaning of the hexagram and the indexical possibility of representation that also shows the realistic nature of the Yijing thought.
