인간주의의 가치와 교육적 지향

The Value of Humanism and Educational Direction

비인간화 현상이 심화되고 있는 첨단 과학 기술 사회에서 교육은 인간성 회복과 인간화에 적극적으로 나설 필요가 있다. 특히 교육의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 학교교육이 정상적으로 이루어지기 위해서는 인간주의의 가치를 바탕으로 올바른 교육의 방향을 설정하고 비인간적인 교육을 인간적인 교육으로 만들어 교육이 본래적 기능을 찾을 수 있도록 노력해야 한다. 뿐만 아니라 우리교육의 문제점을 명확하게 진단하고 개선할 수 있는 교육철학적 토대를 마련해야 한다. 본 연구는 인간주의가 지향하는 가치를 탐구하고 그것을 바탕으로 올바른 교육의 방향이 무엇인지 구체적으로 살펴본 것이다. 인간주의의 가치는 인간에 대한 관심과 연구를 기조로 한다. 본 연구에서는 인간주의가 자기 자신은 물론 인류 전체에 이르기까지 사랑의 정신을 공유하고, 자유와 인간존중, 그리고 인격교육과 관련된다는 점을 중점적으로 다루었다.

Humanistic education has been increasingly paid great attention since dehumanizing problem was raised. Although there have been considerable efforts to reform school system with respect to the humanaizing issues in education, the efforts seem not to make appropriate solution to humanize the educational setting. The purpose of this study is to pull the debate why we could not draw appropriate solutions for the humanistic education. Recognizing the lack of understanding the real problem of dehumanizing education might be a right place to start the debates. If we can build righteous ways to increase the value of human, the ways will improve the school reformation. this study suggested five important arenas that might be considered for the humanizing education: 1) concern about human, 2) free will of human, 3) respect for human, 4) well esteemed personality in education, and 5) love for all people.
