The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between specified achievement criteria and teacher-made test items on the 8th grade based on the 7th curriculum. In order to perform this purpose, the three teacher-made tests which were used in three different schools in 2003 are selected and analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: First, the teacher-made test items were reflected the 8th grade specified achievement criteria generally. But the ratio of speaking section was comparably low at both 8-a and 8-b levels. Second, the teacher-made test items couldn't estimate the learners' level because they were written at specific parts of each skill section. To settle these problems, teachers should be aware of the specified achieverrent criteria and write the test items that comply with them.
