맑스의 ‘물신주의 비판’의 방법론적 의의

The methodological implication of Marx's critique of fetishism

좌파이론의 현대자본주의 분석이 패배주의적이고 비관적인 전망으로 귀결되는 근본요인 가운데 하나는 구조주의적 분석방법에 있다. 구조주의적 분석방법은 자본주의 사회의 ‘물신주의’에 대한 맹목성에서 비롯된다. 따라서 구조주의적 방법론을 발본적으로 극복하기 위해서는 기존 맑스주의 전통에서 주목받지 못한 맑스의 ‘물신주의 비판’이 복원되어야 한다. 맑스의 물신주의 비판에 근거하여 ‘자본주의적 계급관계의 가치형태’로서의 ‘사회적 형태’ 개념을 복원시킬 수 있다. 또 사회적 형태 개념을 통해 맑스의 역사유물론에 입각한 현대자본주의 분석방법론을 재구성할 수 있다.

The structuralist approach is one of the fundamental factors which make the analyses of modern capitalism result in the defeatist and pessimistic conclusion. It is caused by the blindness of 'fetishism' of the capitalist society. To criticise the structuralist approach fundamentally it is necessary to restore Marx's critique of fetishism that has been neglected by the orthodox Marxist. We can restore the concept of 'social form' as 'value-form of the capitalist class relation' based on Marx's critique of fetishism And through the concept of 'social form' we can recompose the method of analysis of modern capitalism based on Marx's method of historical materialism.
