Teaching "Introduction to English Literature" to Undergraduate Students on the Web

These days, Cyber lectures are more needed at universities. As a result, teachers are more interested in cyber class and more professors are participating in cyber education. Under these circumstances, this essay aims to share with my colleague professors my four-year experience of teaching "Introduction to English Literature" on the web and search for its methodology. For this purpose, I present and analyze not only the contents and texts, but various circumstances, problems and restrictions in the cyber education with which I was confronted. I first try to explore the meaning of the education of English literature in terms of cyber education and practicality. As for this respect, I examine students' responses to the subject, and the percentage of the graduation papers on English and American literature, compared to those on other field of studies. Then, I investigate the course description, the textbook and the schedule week by week. In discussing the course schedule, I present the key topics of each lecture and students' responses to them. I also examine frequently asked questions and my responses to them, evaluation and class activities. Last, I explore some problems or restrictions and their possible solutions in cyber education.
