Gardner의 다중지능(Multiple Intelligence) 이론을 활용한 아동미술 프로그램의 방향 모색에 관한 연구

  아동 미술 교육의 철학을 강조하고 미술교육의 목표를 확립하기 위해서는 현재의 여러 미술교육의 시각들과 미술에 대한 최근의 다각적인 아동 미술 교육의 접근법들을 살펴볼 필요가 있다고 본다. 따라서 본 논문은 다양한 문화와 다양한 지능을 강조한 가드너의 이론을 근거로 복잡하고 급격히 변하는 현대사회에 필요한 아동 미술교육 프로그램의 방향성을 제시하고자 한다. 그러한 검토는 어린이를 위한 성공적이고 의미있는 미술 프로그램을 만들어가는 데 방향성을 제시해줄 것이기 때문이다. 가드너의 다중지능이론에서 바라본 미술 교육이란 전통적인 미술 교육처럼 매일 "새로운" 미술체험을 아동에게 제공하는 것 이상을 요구한다. 즉, 오히려 아이들은 미술작업을 통해 재미있는 것을 만들면서 즐기는 방법 이상의 것으로 미술을 바라볼 수 있어야 한다는 것이다. 또한 그것은 아이들이 학습하고 배운 것에 관해 상호작용하고 서로 소통할 수 있는 하나의 방법으로서 미술에 접근하는 것을 뜻하기도 한다. 미술 활동이 모든 학습영역과 연관되도록 전체 교육 프로그램은 세심하게 계획되어야만 한다.

  This paper provides a variety of modern art program approach for children to implement the goals and emphasize the philosophy of art education. This study needs to provide the guideline of art programs based on the theory of multiple intelligence of Gardner that is helpful and available for modern society. The art programs for children should balance artistic processing and the making of art products. A good art program would understand and accept the fact that art approach of individual children can be oriented toward process, products, or both. Also, all children should have access to art to interact and communicate. A art program provides children with ample time, space, and materials to make art. It should emphasize the relationship between art and math, science, language, music, and social studies for integrating art across the childhood curriculum. Providing sensory stimulation help children have aesthetic experience. According to Gardner, intelligence is not a single concept. The theory of multiple intelligence explains that there are many ways of demonstrating one"s intelligence. It defines intelligence as the capacity to solve problems or make things that are valued by one"s culture. Children all have some of each intelligence as well as particular strengths. Multiple intelligence influences children"s creative expression.
