Studies on Structural Models between Social Variables and Adaptation of Mothers with Challenged Children

  본 연구는 사회적 변인과 장애아 어머니의 적응간의 구조관계를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 선정한 연구 문제는 첫째. 장애아 어머니의 사회적 변인과 적응 변인 간에는 어떤 관계가 있는지 구명한다. 둘째. 장애아 어머니의 사회적 변인과 적응 간의 인과관계 모형은 측정된 경험적 자료와 부합되는지 구명한다. 셋째, 장애아 어머니의 사회적 변인과 적응 간의 직ㆍ간접효과는 어떠한지 분석한다. 연구문제에 따른 결과는 사회적 지지와 가족기능은 스트레스를 매개로 장애아 어머니의 적응에 중요한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 사회적 지지, 가족기능은 스트레스를 통해서 장애아 어머니의 적응에 직ㆍ간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 앞으로 장애아 어머니의 적응에 영향을 미치는 다양하고 복합적인 변인들 간의 관련성을 연구할 때 본 연구의 결과가 이론적인 기초가 될 것이다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this study is to investigate how social variables affect the adjustment of Mothers with Handicapped children, by applying a structural model to analyze the paths of the variables. For this purpose, the research questions of this study are as follows:<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;First, does the model of the casual relationship between the social variables and the adjustment of Mothers with Handicapped children correspond to the assessed empirical data?<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Second, are there any direct or indirect effects of the social and psychological variables on the adjustment of special school students&quot; mothers?<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The major findings of this study are as follows:<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;First, the social support as the independent variables of this study had direct and indirect effects on parenting stress. Through parenting stress, the social support variables had an indirect effect on the adjustment of Mothers with Handicapped children. Through the social support and the family function variables also had an indirect influence on the adjustment of Mothers with Handicapped children. Also social support affected the family function, and the family function affected the parenting stress variables.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Second, through parenting stress and the social support and family function variables had direct and indirect influences on the adjustment of Mothers with Handicapped children. That is, the support of parents, ather family members and relatives, and society decreased the parenting stress of the handicapped children&quot;s mothers.
