Study of User"s Preference for .kr ASCII domain

  현재 한국의 도메인은 영문과 한글로 각각 다른 체계를 가지고 다른 규정으로 등록되고 서비스되고 있다. 언젠가 다국어 도메인이 일반화 되면 매우 곤혹스런 상황이 연출 될 것이다. 그러나 수년째 영문도메인에 대한 소모적 논란이 계속되고 있고 경제적 이해관계와 불투명한 추정으로 점철된 논거가 분명한 판단을 미루고 그냥 놓여있는 이 이슈들은 마무리를 지어야 한국의 인터넷 활성화에 중요한 첫걸음을 띌 수 있다고 판단된다. 본 연구는 이용자 설문을 통해서 이용자가 보는 영문도메인 공간에 대한 형태를 두 논의 부분에 제시하려는 목적을 가지고 이루어진다.

  In Korea, there has been a lot of debates concerning with the opening of the 2nd level domain. However there has been made any conclusion in these hot issues, because any assertion had no clear background enough to persuade the counter-part. Thus this study has an objectives to stop seamlessly debating to just hurt each other. First of all, it is noted that the Internet user"s preference on ASCII domain name must be surveyed. Then the part of these debating issues must be cut off in order to preventing from the seemless loop of discussion. It is not important to decide which domain system is applied to .kr ASCII domain, but which promotion plan of ASCII domain is driven.
