&nbsp;&nbsp;본 연구는 단위학교 적정교육비 분석을 통해 적정학교 규모와 단위학교 재정의 적정성을 분석하고, 이에 영향을 주는 요인과 그 크기를 밝혀, 단위학교 교육재정 운영의 정책적 시사점을 얻는데 그 목적을 두었다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;본 연구는 단위학교의 교육비가 적정교육비 수준에 어느 정도 도달해 있는지를 분석하기 위하여 교육재정의 적정성을 판단하는 기준으로서 표준교육비를 통한 적정교육비 수준을 추정하고 총교육비용 함수와 평균비용 함수를 도출하여 학교급별 적정학교규모를 추정하였다.<BR>단위학교의 재정 운영현황은 적정교육비 실태조사를 통해 현행 단위학교 운영비의 구성요인 및 학교급별ㆍ규모별 교육비 규모를 파악하고 적정교육비 수준과 비교 분석을 통해 단위학교별 적정교육비 확보율을 산출하였다. 끝으로, 단위학교 교육재정의 적정성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하고 학교 수준 변인의 영향력 크기를 분석하였다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;이러한 결과는 단위학교의 교육재정의 확보, 배분, 운영 등에 관한 시사점을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study aims to propose policy indications concerning the financial operation of schools. With regard to the said purpose, this study attempted to calculate a specific amount of school operating expense based on the size of the schools.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The following conclusions were obtained as a result of the study:<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;It was possible to estimate the proper size of elementary schools and ordinary and commercial high schools based on the school operating expense functions: i.e. 32, 35 and 33 classes, with each class having 30 thirty students. In the establishment of a school, the proper size should be considered on the basis of school operating expenses as shown in this result, as well as other factors, such as regional conditions.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;As a result of the analysis of the impact of factors on propriety, the size of a school and the percentage of securing proper school operating expenses show a clearly negative correlation between them.<BR>Thus, the larger a school is, the lower the percentage of securing proper school operating expense. With the exception of expenses borne by beneficiaries, the expenditure of a school is divided into labor expenses, operating expenses, and teaching expenses. When the share of labor and operational expenses differs, depending on the sizes of the schools, it means that the share of operating expenses also differs, causing a difference in the percentage of securing proper school operating expense. It should also be pointed out that large schools, in general, suffer a lower percentage of securing school&nbsp;&nbsp;operating expenses than their smaller-sized counterparts.
