Efficient Operating Schemes for Value Added Logistics in Korean Free Trade Zone

  Recently Northeast Asian region is emerging as the world"s third largest trade zones with the growth of China. Against this background, Korea, located between China and Japan, has both the opportunity and the crisis-becoming the optimal location for Northeast Asian economic activities and global logistics. Under these circumstance, Korea government launched the revised law of Free Trade Zone(hereafter, FTZ) on March 22, 2004.   Thus the objective of this research is to examine the obstacles encountered in FTZ, to suggest the impact of EFZ and the directions for institutional development, and to reform the FTZ law and deregulations for improved institutions. And the practical implications of this study will be presented the desirable guidelines for FTZ implementation.
