To get around English language constraints, the Madrasah (Islamic Boarding School) students could read The Scarlet Letter through a multigenre appoach in which the text is introduced through comics, simplified versions, movies, and the translated versions, before tackling the unabridged English one. In addition, to ease any aspects sensitive to their religious beliefs, the students could take a multicritical approach in which the text is filtered through Puritan, Transcendental, Freudian, and Feminist readings so as to acquaint the students on how to negotiate a text in a broadminded, multiperspective way.
