Tagobi is one of the three ancient monuments of Japan and an important stone monument which links scholars of three nations in East Asia to form close connection concerning stone monument. The monument was made in 711 but has been kept long underground since then. It came to be known to the world by the excavation by Heirin(平鱗) and Dousai(道?) in the houreki(??) period. Heirin presented the rubbed copy of Tagobi to Seong Daejong, a Chosen mission came to Japan in 1764. A Chosen mission to Peking in the Sunjo reign period presented a replica of the rubbed copy to Qing scholars. Qing scholars" acquisition of Tagobi was made via largely three routes.
