I consider the categorical characteristics of the constituents in copular sentences in Korean, separating the Case marker and its complement, to be DP and PP. By introducing KP, which implies that a Case marker is an independent lexical item in a numeration, I explain that the Case marker takes DP or PP as its complement, and suggest the structure of copular constructions compatible to that of a transitive sentence. This proposal is supported by the assumption that a predicate element is structurally empty Case-checked with V or Accusative Case marked with V+υ in copular constructions, following Mahajan (1992)"s suggestion about the positions of objects.
