We investigate the perturbation expansion for the solution of the nonlinear one-dimensional free-electron laser equations. In the case of monochromatic wave, the intensity of emitted radiation field satisfies scaled equations for large distance z travel along the undulator. Therefore, the radiation field is expanded in a Taylor series having a finite radius of convergence. Analytic continuation using Pad？ approximation yields accurate results well into the saturation regime.
