The purpose of this study were to survey the fabric knowledge about clothing products, and to identity the fabric impact on the decision-making process for clothing purchase. The 114 questionnaires were distributed to the university female students, and were analyzed by frequencies, t-test and oneway ANOVA. The results were as follows: 1) Female students considered the elements of design, size, fabric and color of clothing more than the elements of the ease of care, price, sewing, and fashion when they purchased their clothing products. 2) They considered fabric more when they purchased their underwear than when they purchased other clothing product items. 3) There were partially significant differences on the knowledge about the fabric according to the year of the students and major. 4) The consideration of the fabric influenced upon the pre-purchase alternative evaluation and the post-purchase process as well. 5) The first-year female students showed less concern about the fabric than the other(sophomore, junior, senior) students did during the post-purchase process.
