Factor Analysis of Preschool Children"s Aggression

  The purpose of this study was to identify the type of children"s aggression and was to investigate the difference in children"s aggression in accordance with their sex. Subjects of this study were consisted of 305 preschool children"s mothers and teachers(155 boys and 150 girls aged from 3- to 5-year-old) drawn from five preschools in Cheong-ju city. The pilot study was done to examine the applicability of survey instruments. Data were analyzed by using SPSSWIN program.   The results were as follows:   1) With factor analysis preschool children"s aggression was classified into four different types; emotional aggression, risk-taking behavior aggression, status-obtaining aggression, and destructive aggression. 2) There were statistically significant differences in types of children"s aggression according to sex. Boys were more likely to show risk-taking behavior and destructive aggression than girls.
