A Study on the Traffic Safety Assessment on the Bridge Design

  Recently bridge design or construction works on marine traffic route are undertaking in Korean water such as, No. 2 Incheon airport bridge, Busan Namhang grand bridge, Mokpo grand bridge, Geoka grand bridge, and etc.. Unfortunately, however, there is no research on the assessment of the traffic safety on the bridge design so far in Korea. It is the right time to build a guidelines on the assessment parameter of the traffic safety considering the grand bridge design is undertaking. Therefore this study reviews the Korean guidelines on the fairway design, survey the assessment parameters of the traffic safety, suggest the assessment flow and techniques. Consequently this study aims to enhance the traffic safety and reduce the marine accident on the Korean coastal waters.
