A study of repetition units characteristic in the differential diagnosis of early childhood incipient stuttering

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this study investigated repetition units characteristic in the differential diagnosis of early childhood incipient stuttering. The subjects were 10 children who stutter and 10 children who not stutter. Procedure were analyzed for presence and extent of part-word repetition.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The result of the present study were a follows: (1) Part-word repetition have more children who stutter than children who not stutter. (2) Mean repetition units of 1.66 for children who stutter, 1.07 for children who not stutter. There was significant difference between groups. (3)Both groups contain one repetition unit for most parts.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;We could find out that repetition unit is very important fact for diagnosis of CWS, but we will have several difficulties to evaluate CWS with only repetition unit.
