초등학교 교사 영어 심화연수 운영계획

A Study of the Curriculum for the Intensive English Training Course for Elementary School Teachers

  The aim of this study was to develop the intensive English in-service training program for elementary school teachers. To accomplish this, curriculum and contents for in-service training were made according to teacher"s needs. The procedures and results of this study were as follows: First, short and middle term English in-service training programs (including overseas training program) were analyzed to identify the merits and demerits and to make up for the weak points of the programs Second, need analysis was conducted on 905 elementary teachers. The results were reflected in objectives, contents, organizations, and administrations of curriculum. Also, language functions indispensable to English class were included in curriculum according to English training experiences and competence of elementary school teachers. Third, English education theories and teaching models were developed to improve elementary school teachers" communicative abilities and teaching techniques. Fourth, standardized curriculum models and data which could be organized and administered according to the given conditions of the training center were presented. Fifth, the aim of this study was to develop English in-service training program for teachers in active service. So the contents for training program were constructed for trained teachers to design or assist similar kinds of training program.
