영어로 진행하는 수업과 제 변인의 고려

On Teaching English through English and Some Variables in it

  The objective of this study is to raise the necessity of Teaching English through English at the levels of primary and secondary school in Korea and how to remove some variables in teaching English thorough English in EFL classes. Negative factors in teaching English should be considered and eliminated in terms of the government educational policy, educational environment, current teachers, and teaching methods and materials in EFL/ESL. To enhance educational policy at the levels of primary and secondary school, educational research and development should be conducted more fully and practically by the government. To improve teachers" English language proficiency, the government should support teachers" in-service training programs home and abroad. All teachers who are trained in the in-service training programs should be available for other teachers who are not involved in those programs. Lastly, teaching materials should be developed in more authentic mode for students" communicative competence development, and more practical teaching methods or approaches should be adopted considering EFL students in Korea.
