외국의 학업성취도 평가의 사례와 국내의 평가 개선방향 - 우리나라 초등영어를 중심으로

On the National Assessment of Educational Achievement of Primary English

  This study aims to review the assessments of educational achievements of elementary, middle and high school students, and to propose the directions of the educational achievement of primary English in the national level. The National Assessment of Educational Achievement (NAEA) diagnoses the educational achievements of elementary, middle and high school students and the trends of the achievements systematically and scientifically, provides basic reference data of improving a curriculum by analyzing the degrees of students" achieving educational goals of the curriculum, improves the teaching and learning methods, and guides the schools toward better assessment methods by developing and utilizing appropriate assessment methods. In the process of implementing the NAEA, the Seventh National curriculum is analysed, and achievement standards, assessment standards, and assessment tools are developed. In California, the remedial program is executed to improve the achievement level of below-level students based on the Public Schools Accountability Act and the No Child Left Behind. In this vein, the NAEA needs to be revised considering the achievement of below-level students. In this study, it is suggested that the assessment of primary English in the NAEA has to be focused on diagnosing students" basic-level and planning the remedial program for improving the achievement of the below-level students by establishing the association for the NAEA.
