Urbanization and Family Pathology ─Childcare─

  Urbanizing phenomenon developed from 1960s, raised not only changes of industrial structure and family style etc. in objective side but also ones of infant educational view and work consciousness etc. in subjective. These made the mechanism of family pathology changed in quality, which has been occurred since before urbanization. This thesis aims at the concrete and clear explanation of their qualitative changes.   Firstly, the local move took place according to the change of industrial structure and the isolation of nuclear family, the destruction of community and the diversification of values brought the difficulty to the social and cultural adaptation to be the important reason of family pathology occurrence.   Secondly, there are problems centering around the nuclear family which has been supported ideologically and systematically. They are the trend relying the function which was" counted upon the family under the former family system on the present nuclear family, and the phenomenon of nuclear family isolation. Overexpectation from nuclear family scciety brings about the tension and the pathology to young couples who are lacking in the life experiences. So I think that we need the enlargement and the enforcement of the family and the functional group as a prevention of this. The system of local unit is required to solve the family tension really not formally and restraint the family pathology from occurring to prevent any isolation of nuclear family.   Thirdly, I point out the overcompetition. It is the very case that we expect children"s emotion stability, their establishment of identity and their development of intellectual side beyond their capabilities. Because parents compare their children with other and overcount on them, their children groan under a heavy burden, cannot express their emotion naturally and satisfy with their interest. After all, what is stated above are the obstacles in forming their personalities. But because the competition is necessary to the improvement of human ability, we have to make them compete and develope in their own way. It is the best way for us not to infuse them with our, adult"s values and impose a heavy burden on them. And then, we ought to help them free from overcompetition to ease the family tension and lessen the opportunity of pathology occurrence.
