The Working Group of International Chamber of Commerce provided the new Supplement to the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits for Electronic Presentation or " eUCP". The eUCP was in force as of 1 April 2002. The eUCP is not a revision of the UCP. The UCP will continue to provide the industry with rules for paper letters of credit for many years. The eUCP is supplement to the UCP that when used in conjunction with the UCP will provide the necessary rules for the presentation of the electronic equivalents paper documents under letter of credit. The eUCP provide definitions to allow current UCP terminology to accommodate electronic presentation and the necessary rules to allow the UCP and the eUC to work together. The eUCP have been written to allow for presentation completely electronically or for a mixture of paper documents and electronic presentation.<BR> The purpose of this paper is to study the main substance of eUCP and standard for examining documents under UCP and eUCP, to provide a problem of eUCP and supplement of eUCP, to enhance the understanding of the eUCP and to facilitate dealings between merchants domiciled in different countries, by the use of electronic letter of credit.
