Study of IT evolution model of Asian SMEs"

&nbsp;&nbsp;Among Asian nations, small enterprises eagerly used to improve their productivity because the competitiveness becomes harder. However, it is known that the productivity can be increased due to the adaptation of IT tools. In fact, the small enterprises are so weak in terms of new technologies. In Korea SMEs have shown their improvement in the perspective of both competitiveness and productivity. This fact is so useful to other countries in Southern or South-Eastern Asia.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This study focuses on the gradually evolution of ITnization of the small enterprises, in which the process is realistic and apt to be expanded and integrated. This basic strategy is necessary to deal with the problems of the small enterprises. This study categorizes the steps of ITnization into 4 waterfall floors: intrinsic work-sector, ICT infra, work-informatization, and strategic informatization.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In macro-scopic view, informatization can be performed in a well-fashion, however, the specific sub-steps are characterized as both the parallel, water-falling and step-by-step fashion. This study suggests 6 sub-steps for small enterprises of Asian countries.
