A Research on Ancient Textile in Korea -Mainly on the silk fabric-

  Silk textile culture takes an important part of ancient Textile culture in Korea. Silk textile culture is not only restricted to today"s China clture but is relevant to East-North Asiatic inner culture.   This research on silk textile culture of ancient has been made from the view point of world textile history on the basis of historical documents.   Results are as follows:   1. Silk textileculture had been originated and developed in East-North Asia with the begining of Neolithic era.   2. Korean ancient silk textile culture was developed under the basis of fabricated technique of indigenously.   3. All kinds of silk fabrics of ancient had been produced in ancient Korea.   4. It has been proved that Korean ancient silk textile culture contributed io japan silk textile culture.   5. It is regrettable that recent Korea silk textile has notbeen improved and it is suggested that some steps be taken to preserve the old deep-rooted Korean silk textile culture.
