Analysis of the Reaction Time of the Athlete and the Non-Athlete

  The purpose of this study was to attempt to compare the athlete and the non-athlete in reaction time and to investigate the difference of reaction time between male and female, light stmiulus and sound.   Thirty seven were selected as for the non-athlete and sixty one for the athlete. The reaction time of finger and toe was measured by using of digital timer. Five trials were done and the highest score was recorded.   The following conclusions were made:   1. The athlete is faster than the non-athlets by 0.04 second on the average reaction time.   2. The reaction time of finger is shorter than that of toe regardless of sex and stimuli.   3. The light stimulus is faster than the sound stimulus in reaction time.   4. There is no significant difference of reaction time between male and female.
