This paper is to analyze the competitive edge of the korean wireless internet service industry and present the guidelines for improving the competitive edge. For the purpose of this paper, we analyzed the industry structure using value chain model, and selected the critical success factors(CSFs) in the korean wireless internet service industry, based on the previous researches related to the wireless internet and a several times of interviews with the practitioners. Among the CSFs are contents quality(ubiquity, personalization, location-based, convenience, reachability), marketing strategy(first mover advantage, pricing policy, target market, brand image management, distribution type), technological capabilities(the network capacity, terminal capabilities, level of standardization, payment and security supporting capabilities), and strategic alliance(type of strategic alliance, the number of partners). Also we modified the analytical framework of the industry competitive edge of Porter"s on the basis of the CSFs.
