고등학생들의 비규범적 통신 언어 사용과 국어 교육의 과제

The Use of Non-normative Internet Communication Language by High School Students and the Problems for Korean Language Education

  The purpose of this study is to analyze the use and problems of internet communication language by high school students in Seoul and Daegu from the standpoint of language norms. And then we look over how to solve this norms problem with internet communication language through the Korean language education. The materials dealt in this paper are ‘bulletin board language’, ‘chatting language’, ‘e-mail language’, and ‘cooperative diary (Modum-ilgi) language’.   In chapter 2 and 3, for case analysis, we subdivided the usages of internet communication language into the ‘phoneme & writing’ and the ‘morphology & syntactic’. The ‘phoneme & writing’ is constituted with the ‘phonemic & syllabic changing’ and the ‘getting out of the spelling system’. The ‘omitting or misusing of postpositional words’ and the ‘ending types of sentence’ are included in the ‘morphology & syntactic’.   We analyzed the data with statistical method too. From the results of the analysis, it"s found that even though there were usage differences according to groups of informants, they use actively non-normative internet communication language on the whole. They also use frequently these languages in cooperative diary (Modum-ilgi), which is a field of everyday language.   In chapter 4, even though the fact has been recognized that internet communication language, as a new social dialect of Korean, have aspects of helping for the diversity of language use and for the development of culture, the necessity of educational & policy efforts has been pointed out. When dealing with internet communication language in Korean language education, the understanding about ‘what kinds of internet communication language are used’ and ‘what problems are there in connection with the use of them’ are needed at the elementary school stage. Also it"s needed to make students at the middle school stage realize the fact that even though internet communication language have affirmative motives and effects, they could have negative influences on everyday language. In addition, it"s judged that a critical education about the cases being against our language norms is needed.
