자아개념이 대학생들의 학업성취에 미치는 영향 탐색

The study of the effect of self-concept on academic achievement for college students

&nbsp;&nbsp;본 연구는 자아개념이 대학생들의 학업성취에 미치는 영향을 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 자아개념을 학문적, 비학문적 자아개념으로 구분하여 학업성취와의 관계를 분석하였다. 또한 자아개념이 학업성취에 영향을 미치는 과정을 탐색하기 위해 부모의 교육수준, 부모의 관심, 공부시간을 사용한 연구모형을 설정하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 학문적 자아개념이 학업성취에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나, 비학문적 자아개념의 영향은 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구에서 설정된 연구모형을 분석한 결과, 학업성취에 영향을 미치는 효과의 크기는 학문적 자아개념＞ 공부시간＞부모의 관심＞부모의 교육수준＞비학문적 자아개념의 순으로 나타났다. 학업성취에 미치는 효과가 가장 큰 학문적 자아개념에 대해 비학문적 자아개념이 미치는 영향력이 매우 크게 나타났다. 그리고 부모의 관심도 간접적으로 학업성취에 영향을 미쳤다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;본 연구는 대학생들의 학업성취를 높이기 위해서 부모의 지속적인 관심이 요구되며, 또한 대학 교육과정을 통해 학생들의 학문적, 비학문적 자아개념을 강화하는 노력이 병행되어야함을 시사하고 있다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study explored the effect of self-concept on academic achievement for college students. In this study, self-concept was subdivided into academic self-concept and non-academic self-concept. And the structural equating model including parental educational level, parental care, academic and non-academic self-concept, study time, and academic achievement was suggested. The findings were as following: First, the effect of academic self-concept on academic achievement was statistically significant, but the one of non-academic self-concept was not. Second, as the results of analyzing the model, academic self-concept has the largest total effect on students&quot; academic achievement. Non-academic self-concept had considerable total effect on the academic self-concept even though the effect of non-academic self-concept on academic achievement was minimal. Also, parental care influenced academic achievement indirectly. The findings of this study implied that for college students&quot; academic achievement, consistent parental care was required and the effort to strengthen students&quot; academic and non-academic self-concept through college educational programs was also required.
