본 연구는 성격척도의 개발 과정에서 측정도구를 통해 얻은 자료들이 구인의 이론적 구조모형에 적합한지를 검증함으로써 구인을 타당화하는 것이다. 예비검사와 본검사를 통해 활동성, 사교성, 주도성, 호감성, 성실성, 안정성, 개방성을 포함하는 총 138문항이 추출되었으며, 이를 전국의 대도시, 중소도시, 소도시에서 무선적으로 표집된 초등학생 2,165명을 대상으로 양호도 분석을 실시하였다. 구인 타당도를 검증하기 위하여 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과 추론된 잠재변인인 성격의 일반요인과 7개의 성격특성(활동성, 사교성, 주도성, 호감성, 성실성, 안정성, 개방성)으로 구성된 위계모형이 가장 적합한 모형임을 확인 하였다. 성격의 이론적 구조 중 다양한 하위 성격 특성들을 포함하고 상위의 추론된 잠재변인으로서의 일반 성격요인을 포함하는 위계적 모형이 가장 적합함을 경험적으로 확인하였다.
The Purpose of the present study is to develop an Personality Scale for korean elementary school students and to test construct validation through confirmatory factor analysis. Examination of the item descriptive statistics and exploratory factor analysis resulted in the 138-item final scale consist of activityㆍgregariousnessㆍleadershipㆍagreeablenessㆍconscientiousnessㆍstabilityㆍopenness subscale. Data from 2,165 elementary school students were analysed to confirm the hierarchical structure. The result supported the model has general personality as latent factor and lower order factors as activityㆍ gregariousnessㆍleadershipㆍagreeablenessㆍconscientiousnessㆍstabilityㆍopenness factors. Also, It was discuss that probability to the general personality factor and hierarchical structure of personality.
