This study center upon 4 newspapers, which are broadly subscribed in our nation, analyzing the tendency and attitude of reports by courses. And this study shows problems derived from the tendency through questionnarie and at the same time the study reveals the opinion of undergraduates about how that tendency affects sports socialization, and then the study would contribute to renew mass media"s recognition of sports.<BR> The results are as follows:<BR> 1. Sports Column in Newspaper<BR> The followings are the result of research and analyses of newspaper"s reporting tendency about sports.<BR> 1) Concerning the number of article among newspapers and categories, each newspaper reports in order of baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, so-called popularity order. One thing noteworthy is the increasing reports of track and field events that has been unpopular event, which implies that has attention in paid to the boostiong of track field events.<BR> 2) On the number of article among newpapers and contents, each newspaper allots relatively substancial space simply reporting the process of games, result, record and news and information about players and teams.<BR> 2. Public opinion about the Influence of Sports Column in Newspaper on Sports Socialization.<BR> 1) About the influence of newspaper"s sports report; the undergraduates think that lopsided reports of some popular event block the balanced development of sports, though newspaper"s sports report plays guiding role for the development of sports.<BR> 2) About the influence of newspaper"s sport report on one"s cognitive and affective participation in sports; they belive that newspaper"s.
