It concluded that the result of a study on training and preparation of Korean and Russian elite marathoners<BR> 1. Korean marathoners are in the aspect of the recording age of individual record and the first individual record year and the first whole distance of marathon record earlier than Russian marathoners, but Korean marathoners in sports and marathon career are shorter than Russian marathoners.<BR> 2. According to the index of marathoner’s marathon race participation, marathoners those who are participated in Olympic games, World Championship, Asian games and European Championship bring about good result.<BR> 3. The individual system in elite marathoners’ race, Korean marathoners are participated in marathon race and half marathon race less than Russian marathoners, but in 5,000m and 10,000m Korean marathoners are more participated than Russian marathoners.<BR> And also in the interval in between marathon race Korea has minimum 14 weeks" on an average, Russia has 7 weeks on an average. Both Korean and Russian marathoners are participated in marathon race every year.<BR> 4. Look at the characteristic of Mezzo Cycle before race, the reduction of load and intensity before race that Korean marathoners reduce 2.5 weeks on an average before race and Russian marathoners reduce 1.6 weeks on an average before race. In the amount of practice and intensity Korea each average is 67% and 68%; Russian each average is 57.5% and 45%.<BR> The rest before race both countries take a rest for a week before race. In the Plateau training Korea has one time on an average per year, Russia has three times on an average per year. In the period of training Korea stayed 3 weeks on an average and Russia has 4.4 weeks on an average. Korea moved down 28days’ on an average before race and Russia moved down 20days’ on an average before race. Both countries are tried to a carbohydrate diet for 3 or 7 days.
