The Relationship of the Visual Arts and the Dance in the Early Twentieth Century

&nbsp;&nbsp;In the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century when a new art form had begun to appear through all its genre， art is greatly distinguished from the former one. It was symbolism and expressionism that came out in the trend of art at this time. This movement which pursues a new form and way is based on archetype and symbol.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This movement which claims to stand for archetype and symbol derived from myth and legend brings forth a new art form to diversification and also completes the mutually complementary frame for each genre of art. Ultimately， this movement prepares a fundamentally centripetal point that is a simple expression and multiform arts which are dominating the 20th century.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Therefore， this study aims at grasping these above-mentioned standpoints through the connection between dance and visual art. The connection of dancers and visual artists can be understood easily because this study is described on the basis of exchange between artists and essential reciprocity of art form. They understand each other’s art world and arrange the framework of their cooperation. Through these courses， diverse art forms of the 20th century came into being， and current art is under the influence of them.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;I hope this study will be greatly helpful to modern art， especially， dancing art.
