A Study on Metaphysical Detective Story The General" s Mustache(『장군의 수염』)

  The Purpose of this study is to analysis the metaphysical detective story The General’s Mustache(『장군의 수염』). In the classical detective story, the crime was resolved by the detective, so the equilibrium oriented-society safely reproduced. On the other hand, this story inverts the classical detective story’s genre norm. First, the matter of this novel is an absurd society and estranged individual. Second, A novelist is doing the role of detective that discovers the regime’s fundamental rupture. Third, there was denied authorized voice that proclaim a crime’s resolution(the finalized hypothesis), narrative closure that reproduce the equilibrium of a society regime. Especially, a multiple focalization is a literary device that a reader was obliged to read critically some charter’s perspective.
