3자 집단의 요구조사를 통해 본 교육대학교 영어심화반 교육과정의 개선방안 탐색

An Enquiry in the Improvement of the Curriculum in Primary School Teacher Education - with Focus on the Three Groups" Needs Analysis

&nbsp;&nbsp;본 연구의 목적은 현 직전교사교육의 교육과정 구성과 편제에 관한 현황을 파악하고 그 제안점을 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위해 전국 11개 교육대학에서 이루어지는 교육과정을 6개 영역(기능영역, 언어학 영역, 언어습득영역, 교수법 및 교재, 영미 문학, 영미 문화)으로 세분화하였으며 각 영역에 대한 3자집단(교육대학 교수, 영어심화반 학생, 일선 영어담당 교사)의 요구조사(Need analysis)을 실시하였다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;그 결과, 3자 집단 모두 영어교수법 및 교재의 영역을 가장 중요한 부분으로 간주했으며 11개 교대 역시 이를 중심으로 교육과정이 재편되고 있다. 또한 초등영어교사는 구체적인 지식의 구조보다는 영어교육에 관한 포괄적인 지식구조를 형성해야 하므로 나머지 5개 영역을 폐지하기보다는 설문조사 결과 나타난 요구조사를 바탕으로 교육과정 구성에 통합시켜야 한다. 그러나 요구조사 결과, 3자 집단이 모두 반대한 교과목이나 내용 등은 과감히 직전교사교육의 교육과정에서 삭제해야 하며 모두 찬성한 교육영역 및 내용들은 시급히 신설함으로써 현 상황에 맞는 맞춤형 교육과정을 구성할 수 있다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this study is to investigate the state of the current pre-service teacher education program and to provide some suggestions for it. The curriculum of that program was divided into six parts. The six parts were as follows.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;1. English language skills 2. Linguistic<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;3. The knowledge of the process of language acquisition.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;4. Methodology and material 5. English-American literature<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;6. English-American culture<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In order to conduct the research, the surveys were used to find out the needs of professors and students in every university of education and teachers in the elementary school. The results were as follows.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;First, the most important quality which English teacher have is the ability to lead the class. Thus, methodology and material in English class is very important elements in organizing the curriculum of teacher education.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Second, every teacher in the elementary school must have a variety of knowledge in six parts of language education. They would rather have the basic knowledge of six parts than the specific knowledge of them.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Third, the subjects which all these groups don&quot;t like to learn or teach should be removed in the program of teacher education immediately. For example, reading comprehension course for English article or English composition isn&quot;t appropriate to the program of elementary school teacher education.
