Thesis on Colophons at Xerographic Stories Seoul Block Prints

&nbsp;&nbsp;The aims of this thesis is to find out the aspects and implication of colophons in xerographic stories published around Seoul area. Each versions of xerographic stories are investigated very carefully, and the colophons are classified with the mark such as the firstly engraved, the first edition, the re-engraved, the new edition and so forth.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The colophons are divided into three large groups. The classified three large groups is;<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The first group has the colophon like this : the first edition(개판), the new edition(신판) and so forth.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The second group has the colophon like this : the firstly engraved (개간), the newly engraved(신간), the re-engraved(중간) and so forth.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The third group has the colophon which have neither the edition nor the engraved.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Through the investigation of the Bakseongchilseojeom(박성칠서점)&quot;s copyrighted and the Bukchonseopo(북촌서포)&quot;s copyrighted, the edition is not distinguished from the engraved. And the edition of the Bakseongchilseojeom(박성칠서점)&quot;s copyrighted is not counted by itself, but is counted under the considering of the Bukchonseopo(북촌서포)&quot;s copyrighted.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The implication of the FIRST in colophons, such as the first edition(개판) or the firstly engraved(개간), indicates that the xerographic story is the first publication in total.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The implication of the NEW in colophons, such as the new edition or the newly engraved, indicates that the xerographic story is not the first publication and the another version of xerographic story had been published before.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The implication of the RE- in colophons such as the re-engraved, indicates that the xerographic story is not the first publication and is the renewal publication.
