영어 마을의 현황 조사 및 개선 방안 - 전주 지역을 중심으로

  The purpose of this study is to examine the present status of 『English Village』, to analyze the survey data of students who were participated in English Village, and to try to find the improvement ideas for successful management of it. The English Villages are invested and constructed by local autonomous entities, and they are entrusted to some foundations or private enterprises. The 8 village are running in some cities now, and 13 will be established henceforth. According to the local conditions, the sizesㆍfinancesㆍfacilities are so diverse. Most of programs are based on the immersion program and task-based program with various situations. There are 3 types of operations - weekly, weekend and vacation. As a result of students survey, most students are satisfied with the activity-centered program, highly motivated and willing to join again. But English village is short period program We need to consider the Post-Village programs to continue students" interests, and the ideal method for long-range learning is the ordinary program model in each school. More various English experiencing programs for small-scale regions is necessary. Lastly, the systematic study is essential to investigate the real efficiency of the English Village Program.
