초등학생의 창의성 신장을 위한 ‘슬기로운 생활’ 교육과정의 운영 방안

The method of "Intelligent Life" curriculum implementation for developing creativity of children in the elementary school

  본 연구는 초등학교 저학년 아동의 창의성 신장을 위해, 효과적인 ‘슬기로운 생활’ 교육과정 운영방안을 제안하려는 목적으로 진행되었다. 이 연구를 통하여 논의된 주요한 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 통합교육과정은 ① 실제 문제를 학습 내용으로 다루고 ② 학습자 중심의 다양한 수업을 전개하며 ③ 학습자의 주도성과 자발성을 존중한다는 특성을 가지고 있는데 이러한 점은 창의성 신장의 요인과 관계가 있다. 둘째, ‘슬기로운 생활’ 교육과정은 목표, 내용, 방법에 있어서 창의성 교육의 요인과 관련성이 있지만, ‘슬기로운 생활’ 교과의 수업 과정에서 창의성 교육이 효과적으로 이루어지기 위해서는 교사용 지도서에서 보다 적절하고 구체적으로 학습활동에 대해 제시하고 안내하여야 한다. 아동의 창의성 신장을 위해 ‘슬기로운 생활’ 교과의 교사용 지도서는 다음과 같이 개선될 필요가 있다. ① 다른 교과 내용과 관련지어 재구성하거나 연계 운영할 수 있도록 예시적인 방법을 제시하여야 한다. ② 아동의 탐구활동을 촉진할 수 있도록 보다 구체적으로 안내해야 하고, 창의적으로 표현활동을 하도록 활동 간의 연계성을 반영하여야 한다. ③ 아동에게 친숙한 생활 경험을 중심으로 활동을 구성하고, 아동에게 발달적으로 적합한 활동과 흥미있는 활동을 제시하여야 한다. ④ 아동의 주도성과 자발성을 살릴 수 있도록 방법을 안내하여야 한다. ⑤ 아동의 지식과 기능 습득을 촉진할 수 있도록 평가 방법을 구체적으로 제시하여야 한다.

  The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of creative development of young children in elementary school and to propose a novel method for ‘Intelligent Life’ curriculum administration for developing creativity. The results from this study are as follows. First, the proper curriculum administration and environment are needed for developing creativity of young children in elementary school because the ability of creativity in early school age is the basis of the creativity in adulthood. Second, education for creativity can be accomplished effectively by considering various factors because creativity is the concept containing individual’s cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities. Third, the objectives of ‘intelligent life’ subject are closely related to creativity education in respect that they represent cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain and focus on thinking ability including problem-solving and basic searching abilities. Forth, the contents of intelligent life subject are related to creative characteristics and development of creative thinking ability since they include subject for children’s everyday environment and basic searching activity-oriented subject. Fifth, curriculum administration of ‘intelligent life’ subject designated as national level has a relationship with development of creativity, however, more specific and effective methods for creativity education should be proposed in instruction book for teachers.
