사이버공간 활동에서 나타나는 세대 격차, 그 교육적 함의 - 초등학생, 학부모, 교사 중심으로

Generation Gap in the Activity on Cyberspace, its Educational Implication - With Specific Focus on pupils, parents, teachers

  본 연구는 인터넷의 발달로 인한 세대 간의 격차에 대해 알아보고, 그 격차를 해소하고 정보사회에 대응하기 위한 방법을 모색하기 위해 실시되었다. 서울, 인천 지역의 초등학생과 학부모, 교사 총 255명을 대상으로 인터넷 사용유형 외에 사이버공간에 대한 인식, 사이버공간에서의 행동 특성, 그리고 정보사회에 대한 인식 등을 조사 하였다. 연구결과로 인터넷 사용유형에서는 기존의 연구와 같이 학생, 교사, 학부모 간에 많은 차이를 보였다. 사이버공간에 대한 인식과 사이버공간에서의 행동특성에서도 학생과 교사, 학부모 간에 의미 있는 차이가 나타났고 정보사회에 대한 긍정적 인식에도 많은 차이를 보였다. 사이버공간을 일상생활의 일부로 받아들이는 학생들과 달리 교사, 학부모는 사이버공간에 대해서나 인터넷 사용의 문제점 등에 대해 부정적으로 인식하는 경향이 있다. 세대 간의 격차를 줄이기 위해 교사와 학부모의 인식변화가 필요하고 정보사회에 적극적으로 대처할 수 있는 정보화교육이 필요함을 알 수 있다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study is aimed to find out generation gap occurring due to the development of Internet, and to seek out measures to cope with information society by solving the generation gap. The research was conducted for finding out awareness on the cyber space, behavioral property in the cyber space, and awareness on information society apart from the type of using internet, targeting the total 255 elementary school students, their parents, and teachers in Seoul and Incheon.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;As a research result, there were considerable differences among students, teachers, and parents as shown on the existing researches. As for awareness on the cyber space and behavioral property in the cyber space, there was a significant difference among students, teachers, and parents as well as for information society. Unlike students who accept the cyber space as a part of their daily lives, teachers and parents tend to perceive the cyber space or the use of Internet rather negatively.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In order to reduce the generation gap, it needs for teachers and parents to change their awareness. Also, it is imperative to offer information education that might enable them to actively cope with information society.
