Contexts are known as playing a crucial role in connecting both forms and meanings. ESL/EFL teachers have to teach both the forms and meanings of the target language in context. The present article attempted to provide the fundamental concepts of a contextualized approach to EFL instruction. It reviewed two different approaches to contextualized language instruction, i.e., a narrow and a broad approach. It also offered some suggestions for contextualized language instruction with the teacher"s guide to Elementary English Textbook 6 currently used in Korea.
