牧隱 李穡의 記에 관한 考察

A study on Mok-eun"s Lee Saek Ki

&nbsp;&nbsp;牧隱은 현존하는 고려시대 記 가운데 가장 많은 작품을 남기고 있으며, 그의 산문 작품 가운데서도 記가 가장 많은 부분을 차지하고 있다. 본고는 목은 記에 관한 고찰을 통해 목은이 고려시대 3대 文豪의 한사람이 될 수 있었던 일면모를 살펴보고자 한다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;牧隱은 사실을 중시하는 記의 양식적 특성에 있어, 자신이 직접 寓目하지 못한 대상물을 기록하는데 있어 口述의 방법을 동원해 記의 형식에서 벗어나지 않으면서도 갖추어야 할 내용은 다 갖추고 있으면서 간결하게 전개하는 뛰어난 구상과 함께 각 편마다 구성 방식을 달리하거나 記에서 꺼리는 허구적 요소를 첨가하는 등 평면적인 기술에서 생동적으로 작품을 구성하여 다양한 방식을 구사하였다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;그리고 敍事 위주의 記에서 性理學 思想을 중심으로 議論을 강화하거나 자신의 情懷를 첨가함으로써, 記작품을 단순한 敍事의 단계를 넘어서서 훨씬 다채롭게 발전시켰다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;또한 牧隱은 記가 단지 기록적 차원에서 끝나는 것이 아니라, 기록할만한 일이 있으면 기록으로 남겨 후인들에게 권장하는 것도 記의 기능 중 하나라고 여겼으므로, 忠孝나 벼슬아치들의 직분 등 사대부들의 가치지향점을 제시하였다. 이것은 고려 말 혼란한 정치상황 속에서 士大夫들이 지녀야할 의식의 지향점을 제시함으로써 당시 士大夫들이 나아가야 할 방향을 보여주고 있다는 점에서 牧隱의 記가 지니는 의의라 할 수 있을 것이다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;이처럼 牧隱의 記는 양적인 면에서 뿐 만 아니라 질적인 면에서도 뛰어나다고 하겠다. 그 결과 고려시대에서 가장 많은 記를 남길 수 있었던 것이며, 고려시대 3대 文豪의 한 자리를 당당히 차지할 수 있었을 것이다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Mokeun is regarded as one of the writers who have left many writings, and many of his writings are about KI. This paper observed about Mokeun&quot;s KI and revealed why he became the one of three great writers in Goryeo period(918～1392).<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Originally, Ki lays stress on much about importance of the truth, so when Mokeun wrote about the things he didn&quot;t know, he tried to get all the right forms with full contents through other&quot;s saying.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Futhermore, In Sung-confucianism with the core of description, he strengthened arguments with his emotion, so he developed Ki writing more variate, not just describe.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Moreover, Mokeun didn&quot;t finish Ki at only just writing, but he regarded Ki&quot;s function as an encouragement for descendents. Therefore, he wrote about patriotism, filial piety, official&quot;s duty. These suggested an illustrious official&quot;s consciousness as the intention which they had to keep in mind in the confusing political time. In this respect, Mokeun&quot;s Ki writing is very<BR>meaningful.
