&nbsp;&nbsp;白沙 李恒福(1556∼1618)은 1580년 이후, 근 40년 동안 조정에 있었다. 젊어서부터 요직을 두루 거쳤으며, 임진왜란 이후 국가 체제의 정비와 문물의 부흥을 위해 노력하였다. 때문에 그의 문학작품에는 나라의 중요한 사건이나 국가적 사업에 관련된 글들이 많다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;『백사집』의 문헌적 가치에 대해 임형택 교수는 경세문장적 의미와 기록적 산문의 성과로 평가하였다. 이는 백사의 산문에 주목하여 평가를 한 것이다. 그런데『백사집』소재 한시들에서도 그러한 특징이 드러난다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;백사의 시는 눈앞의 현실과 거기에서 비롯된 감정 또는 느낌을 꾸밈없이 直敍하는 경향이 강하다. 직면한 현실과 거기에서 촉발된 감정을 꾸밈없이 담담하게 읊은 그의 시에서 당면한 민족의 슬픔과 고난, 또 고위관리로서 시대를 고민하고 아파하는 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 다시말해 백사의 시도 산문처럼 &quot;據實直敍&quot;의 성격이 두드러진다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;본고에서는 이러한 점에 착안하여 백사의 한시를 고찰하였다. 17세기 전환기의 시대상과 현실을 잘 드러내었음을 확인할 수 있었는데, 이는 백사의 시가 社會詩的 성격, 보다 넓은 의미로는 杜甫에게서 시작된 ‘詩史’로서의 특징을 지니게 되는 원인이라 하겠다.

The poems were written about his troubled times. He wrote about the effect of the times in which he lived on himself. Accordingly Baeksa&quot;s poetry also characterized by a historical descriptions.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;When we read Baeksa&quot;s poem, we could see actuality of Chosun dyanaty in 17c. So you could say Baksa&quot;s poetry have got features of historical poems, which have been originated by DuFu(杜甫) who has been called &quot;poet-historian(詩史)&quot;
