This paper mainly concerns the sexual politics reflected in the myths of the ancient Greece. The Greek myths inseparable from the religion of the polis and the family were transformed into new genres such as the epic, the lyric and the tragedy. In spite of changes in the content and form of the myths, it is thought that one of the consistent essences is the sexual politics, which looks upon the origin of the patriarchy as the origin of the civilization and the nation.
The recorded old myths and Hesiodos"s Theogony justifies the victory of the male gods and the defeat of the goddesses. In them, the male gods remarkedly appropriate the womanly attributes: for examples, pregnancy, delivery. Aphrodite, Athena and Dionysos were born of the father himself without the mother, and Zeus appropriates sophia, dike and farming by marrying Metis, Themis and Demeter.
The rising of Dionysos as the god of the people in the fifth century B. C the fifth century is connected with the sexual politics. He has the feminine look and appropriates the womanly totems such as the ox, the snake, and their attributes such as prediction and the music. The tragical acception of the epical myths dramatizes the downfall and fallacy of "the mother". Heroines in "the death of the mother" are Klytaimnestra killed by her son Orestes, Iokaste married to her son and Agaue tearing off her son with her sister, the king of Thebai, Pentheus. The sexual politics in the myths of the ancient Greece was exhalted, and then ended up in Euripides"s tragedy.
