Everyday Humanity Struggle and Excessive Desire for Power in Korean

&nbsp;&nbsp;본 논문은 한국사회에서 볼 수 있는 일상적 인격투쟁과 과잉권력욕을 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 먼저 인격 갖추기, 인격 지키기, 인권, 인격투쟁 등에 대한 이론적 틀을 구성하고, 그것에 기초하여 한국사회에서 볼 수 있는 일상적 인격투쟁과 과잉권력욕을 분석하였다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;본 논문은 다음과 같은 내용을 주로 다루었다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;첫째, 인격의 사전적 의미를 기초로, 인격 갖추기와 인격 지키기가 어떤 성격을 지니고 있는지 살펴보았다. 둘째, 인격 지키기와 인격권이 어떤 관계가 있으며, 이를 바탕으로 근대적 인권이 성립한 역사적 맥락을 살펴보았다. 셋째, 인격의 과시와 무시에서 발생하는 인격투쟁이 어떤 성격을 지니고 있는지 살펴보았다. 넷째, 인격투쟁의 가장 강력한 수단으로서 권력이 어떤 역할을 하는지 살펴보았다. 다섯째, 위에서 논의한 것을 바탕으로 한국인에게서 볼 수 있는 인격투쟁과 과잉권력욕을 설명해 보았다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;본 논문은 한국인이 근대화를 추진하면서 가졌던 꿈, 즉 모든 사람이 대등과 호혜 관계 속에서 자신의 인격을 주체적으로 실현해 나가는 사회를 건설하는 일에 필요한 기초 이해를 제공하는 데 있다. 이러한 이해는 한국인에게만 머물지 않고 인류의 차원에서 인격공동체를 이룩해 나가는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The aim of this article is to understand the nature of everyday humanity struggle and excessive desire for power in Korean society. It will organize the theoretical frame concerning humanity cultivating, humanity protecting, human right, and humanity struggle, and analyze the nature of everyday humanity struggle and excessive desire for power in Korean society.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This article mainly deals with the followings. First, it investigates the nature of humanity cultivating and humanity protecting based on a literal meaning of human right. Second, it finds the relationship between humanity protection and human right, and studies the historical context upon which modern human right is established. Third, it studies the characteristics of humanity struggle arising from the showing off or disregard of human right. Fourth, it investigates the role of power as the forceful means of humanity struggle. Fifth, it explains Korean humanity struggling and excessive desire for power in Korea on the base of the discussion above.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This article offers a basic framework in understanding the nature of Korean dream during modernization, in other words to realize his or her own humanity willingly under fair and reciprocal relations. This understanding will contribute to establish humanity community in a global sense instead of remaining in the particular Korean meaning.
