A high active protease-producing microorganism was isolated from the spider in Korea. The microbe produces large amount of high active protease, and almost protease is secreted to culture broth. The protease, named to Arazyme, has the unique characteristics as follows. The Arazyme has relatively high enzyme activity not only in ambient but also in low temperature, in wide range of pH, and even in high salt condition. The Arazyme is active in the various kinds of enzyme substrates. The Arazyme has also some antimicrobial activity against various kinds of microorganisms, competitive with several known antibiotics. The Arazyme is well using in the related application fields such as livestock animal feed additives, food processing, laundry detergent, leather processing, cosmetics, and neutraceuticals etc. The Power-cell, One-Q are famous commercial products in animal feed additives, B.A.L. and Enzyme Peeling Gel in cosmetics. This is one of the successful cases in the technology transfer from research laboratory to industry. And various promoting systems of Korean government are absolutely helpful for the technology transfer from research laboratory to industry.
